strawberry Swiss Roll alpine bakery trattoria

Alpine Bakery & Trattoria is a local bakery and restaurant in Alpharetta, Georgia serving a moderate selection of Italian cuisines. The shopping center storefront restaurant was nicely decorated with leather seating, brick fireplace, and a piano to give a vintage fine dining ambiance. You’re sure to catch a glance of their sweet treats behind the glass when you enter the doors of the dining room with the adjoining bakery.

Service

Our hostess was waiting for our entry with a smile as she held the door for us. She seated us immediately. Our server was soft spoken and very mannerable. He filled our glasses with water and gave us a moment to study the menu. The menu was simple, but had a good variety of salads, sandwiches, and pastas to choose from.

Food

We settled on the salmon sandwich with lettuce, tomato, avocado, bacon, lemon aoili. Also, the crabcake sandwich with lettuce, tomato, avocado, and lemon aioli on a brioche bun. We also got the Alpine burger with mayo, mustard, lettuce, tomato, onion, bacon, and muenster cheese with a side salad. Lastly was the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken.
The richly flavored Alfredo sauce was light and thin in texture. Our a sweet potato fries that we chose to accompany both sandwiches were lightly, crispy and sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar. The burger was chargrilled well. The salmon was delicious and nicely grilled also. It wasn’t dry or overdone, but was just the right texture. The lemon aioli gave a light flavor that complemented the sandwich well. The rab cake on the sandwich was crispy around the edges with soft fresh flavored crabmeat in the center.

Dessert

For dessert we ordered the Strawberry Swiss Roll cake, which was definitely a shareable portion. The yellow lady finger/angel food textured cake was filled with a center of fresh strawberries, vanilla pudding, and whipped cream with an outer layer of whipped cream, hard chocolate drizzle, chocolate flakes, strawberry drizzle, and chocolate covered strawberries. The dessert was cold and creamy with a refreshing fusion of flavors.

Overall Experience at Alpine Bakery & Trattoria

One of our little reviewers wanted us to be sure to make a note of how great the service was. We loved our server and our hostess who also saw us out when we were finished dining. With good food, excellent service, and extraordinary dessert, what more can you ask for?
